Last Sunday I sat outside, soaking in the sun and reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love. Filled with vivid descriptions of pizza in Naples, rabbit stew in Sicily, and sun drenched streets in Rome, this book transported me back to a place where time and the pursuit of pleasure take on an entirely new meaning.
When I was finally able to pull myself away, I made a meager attempt to prolong the affair with Italian food by going for gelato at Divino Gelato Café in nearby Waukesha.
Few things are better than eating a cold, velvety spoonful of Italian-style ice cream on a warm summer evening. I especially love the light, airy quality of the fruit-flavors, and indulged in a small bowl filled with super smooth lemon gelato while Scott savored a cup of the creamy Butterfinger. Both were delicious, but honestly, it was a bit difficult to decide what flavor to choose when facing the colorful array options; thank goodness they are generous with samples.
While the gelato from Divino’s is well worth the short drive, there are a few options for gelato lovers living downtown. Coco Bella and Mimma’s Cafe offer a delicious selection for dessert, and if you're struck with the urge for gelato while stocking your pantry at Whole Foods Market, you can easily pick up some there.

Nothing takes the edge off a hot day then some gelato. My favorite is Chunky, Munky, Chocolate Explosion.

I think the hot day must've affected your head. :-) Isn't Chunky Monkey a Ben & Jerry's flavor?? Hmmmm... if not it sounds great and I need to procure some asap!!

Whoa, I almost started licking my computer screen when I saw your gelato photo. I’m a recovering gelato addict. I was out of control until Whole Foods slapped a restraining order on me. I’m no longer allowed to walk past the gelato café.
